If someone had convinced me 35 years ago that my hearing would be wrecked by my lifestyle choices, I would be far better off. Alas, nobody did and now I pay for all that field shooting and construction sites. Now my hearing is permanently damaged and I protect what’s left of it at all costs.
How about being able to not only protect your precious hearing from gun shots while at the same time increasing your capability to hear that wild tom? I was intrigued by the possibility and now I’m sold on Ghost Stryke electronic ear plugs.
“Electronic ear plug” sounds suspiciously like a hearing aid and in one way it is. Ghost Stryke plugs can increase your hearing up to 8X, allowing you to hear anything from whispering people to distant gobbles. At the same time, they prevent you from hearing noises louder than 85 decibels, thereby protecting your ears from damage. Loud noises are reduced up to 30dB.
Ghost Stryke earplugs come with different ear pieces; foam for maximum reduction and silicone for maximum boost. Both are comfortable enough for all day use and an extra set of each are included, along with a cleaning brush. The kit also includes a small field carrying case and even comes with the requisite batteries.
I tested Ghost Strykes for more than a month in the field; no failures, no problems, no ringing ears, yet greatly improved hearing, especially for far off sounds. To say I’m impressed is an understatement. My only regret is that I didn’t try them sooner!
